Founded on a Simple Observation
domestid began in 2019 when its founder, having spent years working with households on their paper records and family communication patterns, noticed a repeating difficulty: families often knew which conversations mattered most, but found no natural moment in the year to have them. Important documents sat in different drawers. Agreements made informally were forgotten by the following quarter. The household moved forward, but not quite together.
The response was to borrow the structure of an almanac — a format that Malaysian households have long understood, even if not by that name. The almanac does not tell you what decisions to make. It tells you that certain conversations belong to certain seasons, and it holds space for them.
Since opening our office at Menara HLA, Jalan Kia Peng, we have worked with households across the Klang Valley and beyond, adapting our facilitation format to the rhythms of multi-generational families, dual-income households, and families preparing for the quieter but significant turning points that every home eventually reaches.
Our Mission
To give Malaysian families a dependable seasonal rhythm for their household conversations and records — without overcomplicating the process or requiring professional intermediaries for ordinary household organisation.
Our Approach
We work as facilitators, not advisors. Every session is designed around frameworks that families can continue to use long after the programme ends. We do not tell households what to decide — we help them create the conditions in which their own decisions can be made thoughtfully.

How We Work
Standards Across Every Programme
These are not aspirational statements — they are the specific practices that shape each session from the initial enquiry to the final annual review.
Household Confidentiality
Nothing discussed or documented in a domestid session is shared outside the household without explicit consent. Facilitators do not retain copies of household records.
Clear Scope of Service
Every engagement begins with a written scope that states precisely what domestid will and will not do. We do not provide legal, financial, or medical counsel in any form.
Session Documentation
After each session, the household receives a brief written summary of what was agreed upon and the next steps. This summary is prepared by the facilitator and reviewed with the family before closing.
Data Handling
Personal data collected during enrolment is used only for programme coordination. We comply with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and do not share data with third parties.
Facilitator Preparation
Facilitators prepare individually for each session using the household's programme record. No two sessions follow an identical script; the agenda adapts to where each family is in their seasonal rhythm.
Participant Feedback
Each session ends with a brief written feedback form. Responses are read by the domestid team and inform how future sessions are structured — for that household and for the programme as a whole.
About Our Practice
Household Organisation Rooted in the Malaysian Calendar
domestid operates from the understanding that household organisation in Malaysia carries its own particular shape. School terms, the rhythm of major public holidays, and the patterns of multi-generational living all create a calendar that differs from household-organisation models developed elsewhere. Our programmes are built around that local calendar, not adapted from a generic template.
The three programmes we offer — the Seasonal Household Conversation Workshop, the Quarterly Family Records Programme, and the Annual Family Almanac Programme — span different depths of commitment and different stages of household readiness. A household new to structured conversation might begin with the Workshop and return for a deeper engagement the following year. A household already partway through building its records system might enter directly at the Quarterly level.
Each engagement is educational. Facilitators work alongside the family, not in front of them. The tools — prompt sheets, records folders, written timelines — are designed to remain useful long after the programme closes. Our measure of a well-run session is whether the household leaves with something they can continue to use independently, season after season.
